Jerry,
Just a quick note to let you know how things went on my land clearing job.
Yesterday Clint showed up at my house ready to work at 7:00am sharp, just as promised. We spent a few minutes going over what I wanted done, and just like that, he went to work. He didn’t stop, not even for a minute until 5:30pm, and that was only because it became too dark.
My job took two days and the same that was said for the first day, can be said for the second. However, on this day, we spent a few minutes prioritizing what was to be completed as this was going to be his last day here. In the end, it didn’t matter. Clint got everything done with an hour and fifteen minutes to spare. So, I got to get my “only if” items completed too. Clint got it all done, all of it, the things I needed done, the things I wanted done, and the things that there should have been no way he could get done, done!
Clint represented your company extraordinarily well. As stated prior, he showed up on time as promised, and worked the entire day as promised. For the kind of (dirty – sweaty) work he had to do, he was very well dressed and well groomed. Not necessarily what you’d expect, however very welcome as my wife and four young daughters were here to watch too. (They all had a blast watching Clint and your machinery tear up those trees like a shredder goes through paper.) He was quiet and reserved, very professional, and very competent.
As a former business owner myself, I know how important it is to have your employees represent you and your business in the same way you would in front of your customer. I can assure you Clint did just that, and maybe even then some. He didn’t leave trash, i.e. fast food wrappers, water bottles, and cans or assorted junk behind. If he smoked or chewed tobacco, he didn’t do it in front of me or my family. There were no cigarette butts left behind for me to clean up and there was no nasty chew spit all over the place, including in your equipment. If he had done any of those things, I wouldn’t know, because he left our place better than her found it, and not just as a result of his work.
You should also know; I witnessed Clint clean his machine, grease the zerk fittings, inspect not only his machine, but the truck and trailer too. I watched him do this when he arrived at the beginning of the day, and again at the end of the day before he left. He checked the air in the tires and the fluids under the hood of his truck too. I am in the trucking business and I know how important this is to the longevity of your equipment, the safety and well being of your employees, your customers, and the general public. This impressed me so much, I just had to include it in this letter. Clint truly represents the old saying,”Integrity is doing the right thing, even when nobody’s watching.” You should be very proud.
You may, without hesitation or reservation, use me as a reference, however you see fit, should you choose to do so.
A very satisfied customer
